Best Christmas Stocking Fillers For Dogs

Pets are part of the family. And so, when it comes to Christmas time, it’s only natural to want to include your dog in all the fun and celebrations.

And they’ll be super excited too! After all, there will be treats to snaffle, presents to rustle and everyone will be out in the afternoon for playtime with – paws crossed – a new toy.

Few owners can resist seeing the sheer delight on their dog’s face when they’re surprised with a bag full of goodies. And we don’t blame them!

To help you treat your dog this Christmas, here are our best stocking fillers for you to treat your dog with this festive season.

A new way to walk

Christmas is a special occasion and there’s one thing that special occasions call for – looking smart! And even though your dog might not want to stay in their new Christmas elf outfit for as long as you want them to, there’s one thing they’ll love and that’s one of our gorgeous Leather Dog Collar and Lead Sets.

They’re beautifully stitched and feel really soft. Perfect for looking the part when heading out for walkies on Christmas Day. They come in different sizes, so you can make sure both the lead and collar fit nicely.

Playtime with a difference

For dogs, there’s nothing better than a squeaky toy. And if your pup loves their playtime to be noisy, then they’ll simply adore our Squeaky Pig Toys!

They’re the perfect size for chewing, throwing and fetching, and they let out a little grunt every time they’re squeezed!

Pop one into your dog’s stocking as an exciting present for Christmas morning.

Snuggle up

When it comes to winter, it’s all about snuggling up on the sofa and staying lovely and warm. And what better way to make sure Christmas is extra cosy this year than with one of our dreamily soft dog blankets.

Our Grey Check Blanket in particular has a soft side and fleecy side – for when those winter nights really kick in! They’re ideal for evenings on the sofa as well as keeping warm in the car or outside.

Christmas treats

Christmas – for many of us – involves lots of lovely food. And even though you’ll want to keep a close eye on your dog and how much they’re eating on Christmas Day, it’s still nice to have a couple of spare treats set aside.

And it doesn’t matter whether you’ve bought them their favourite treats or have decided to make something new and exciting, our Treat Bags are perfect for stashing away some delicious nibbles in time for Christmas morning!

They’re great for walks too and come with a clip so you can hook them onto your belt.

Christmas dog biscuit recipe

Making homemade treats for your dog is both fun and rewarding. And in the run up to Christmas you find yourself with a few extra ingredients, why not give it a go?

You can cut them into Christmas-themed shapes like snowmen or stars, or simply make them bone-shaped so everyone knows they’re for the dog!

Makes 12 biscuits

For the biscuits, you’ll need:

  • 200g wholemeal flour
  • 1/2 a ripe banana
  • 1 teaspoon of runny honey
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter (make sure it doesn’t contain xylitol, an artificial sweetener which is poisonous to dogs)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Pre-heat the oven to 150°Celsius

1) Pour your flour into a mixing bowl and add the cinnamon, mashed banana and honey.

2) Stir with a whisk or fork until smooth.

3) Add in the peanut butter and keep stirring.

4) Finally add most of the beaten egg and keep mixing until combined (you’ll need a small amount of egg left for the glaze).

5) If the mixture looks a little wet, don’t worry, just add in a little more flour until the mixture forms a ball of dough.

6) Place your dough on a floured surface and roll out until it’s about 1cm thick.

7) Cut your dough into your chosen shapes and add onto a baking tray that has a layer of grease-proof paper on the top.

8) Glaze your biscuits with the rest of the beaten egg and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes. You can turn them after 15 minutes just so bake the other side and make sure that they’re satisfyingly crunchy!

9) Once baked, let them cool on a wire rack. And then when they’re ready, you can pop them into your Me & My Pets Treat Bag in time for Christmas Day.

To top them off:

If you want to give your biscuits a topping, you can mix some peanut butter (that is xylitol-free) with Greek yoghurt and spread over the biscuits. Or, if your dog’s diet is dairy-free, simply spread over some more peanut butter with some chopped strawberries as a special treat your dog will love!
